Parish update 3/18/20

Dear Parishioners,

As a reminder; all committee meetings, rehearsals, faith formation and other events are cancelled until further notice. This includes the casserole club and 24 Hours for the Lord at St. Peter’s Cathedral. In accordance with Bishop Persico’s message sent yesterday, all public Masses are cancelled until further notice.

During this time, the church will remain open daily for personal prayer from 7:00am until 8:00pm. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will take place on Wednesdays from 8:00am until 8:00pm. If you would like to commit to a particular hour or half hour, please contact the office at 833-7701.

Church offices are closed to the public until further notice; however the office can be reached daily from 9:00am until 3:00pm via phone, 833-7701 or email, olp@olp.org.

There will not be a Communal Penance Service; however, priests will still be available to hear confessions at the following times:

Wednesdays from 11:30am – Noon

Fridays from 6:00pm – 7:00pm

Saturdays from 8:30am – 9:00am and 3:45pm – 4:45pm

Though the St. Joseph Table Mass will not take place tomorrow, canned food items can be dropped off in the church and placed in the baskets on the altar for donation to the local food pantry in accordance with the Feast of St. Joseph.

As the Bishop has reminded us, we still have an obligation to keep the Sabbath holy even though we cannot attend Mass. To assist you we want to remind you of the great spiritual resources available to all parishioners through FORMED. It is easy to register. . . simply go to olp.formed.org (code 8GQD8) and click on “register.” Enter your name, email address and a password.

In addition to FORMED and myParish app, we will be sending weekly emails to provide spiritual resources for you and your family. During this time, PRAY and know that we are praying for you.
